The “yet” gives the game away. CoS members do not believe in the “supernormal”; they believe in the “pre-normal”–that is, they simply wait for science’s legitimation. I see nothing particularly “iconoclastic” about such a view. The end result remains normalization, with Science enthroned s the arbiter of what is real and unreal. This is the world-view of nearly every educated person in the West. So, I am afraid that the CoS will have to try harder if they want to disclaim their well-earned reputation of being little more than Objectivists in black robes.

Yea, I have listened to Incantation on last.fm numerous times. I finally had to start banning all the Incantation tracks that feature this promotional segment. It’s retarded and made me refuse to listen to them anymore.

Well I know one thing thats a definite factor where I am in Canada is cost. You not only have to pay the actual magazine prioce which to start with it several dollars higher in Canada then the USA (you’ll see things like 5.95 US 7.95 Canada to start with) but on top of that you have to pay 2 yes thats right 2 taxes which add roughly 15 % to the cost of the magazine. If its the same elsewhetre as here in Ontario Canada then thats why (at least in part)print zines are dying out

It was nice for a while to see webzines go up and more people come out and start writing, but now, at this point, I’m kind of eager to go back to print zines again as the quality of writing is really suffering. It would be a terrible thing for the underground if all writing/journalism/whatever became concentrated in the hands of a few giant magazines.
