Peace won’t be obtained…

As we try to settle back into a level of normalcy in the Worm compound after Jim’s move and just dealing with whatever obstacles that creep into our trajectory, we have pulled together a few more reviews for all of you fine folks to weed through. Interviews will be reintroduced once the mood and muse strikes again, but it is summertime and we all find ourselves… well… busy. You know…. Working on that stunning bronze beach tan, and throwing parties in the sun. That is how we roll up here in the north country. And the livin’s easy. Right.
We shall return next week with hopefully a bit more meat on the bone. Until then… playlists and comments could be enjoyed by all!! -Marty

  1. Well based on the lack of comments, it appears many are enjoying the summer weather. I picked up the Hellhammer “Only Death is Real” Illustrated History from Bazillion Points books. Hence the explanation for much of recent listens.

Hellhammer – Triumph of Death Demo
    Hellhammer – Satanic Rites Demo
    Hellhammer – Apocalyptic Raids
    Celtic Frost – Morbid Tales
    Bathory – Bathory
    Venom – Welcome to Hell
Witchcraft – Legend (One of the best from 2012)

  2. Glad to hear the new Gorguts is high-caliber material. Though I’ve never really gotten them, I’ve always had a soft spot for them going al the way back to seeing cassettes of ‘Considered Dead’ in mall record stores during my high school days. I remember checking out that tape in the store one day while browsing with this really cute gal; she couldn’t decide whether it was cool or psycho-scary that I was into stuff like that 🙂 I’m not sure, but I think I ended up buying ‘Cold Lake’ that day instead of ‘Considered Dead’ b/c I really wanted to hear what Celtic Frost sounded like. We all make mistakes.

Playlist- been too busy to play much.
    Summoning- Minas Morgul
    Atlantean Kodex- the Golden Bough
Did buy ‘Old Mornings Dawn’ bt haven’t played it enough to comment on it.

Cool to See Morrigan on a playlist; I dig most of their catalog. Discovered them via the old print issues of WG 🙂

  3. This Gorguts is intriguing to me because I don’t really care for anything else they have done expect maybe this. Their early stuff is pretty predictable typical Death, while their later stuff is way too yank-chain-masturbatory tech fluff. This new song, however, is interesting. I will refrain any judgement until I have heard the whole album, and many times. Something in me though tells me this just is missing the evil dirt of the Death Metal I like. It seems a tad too polished or perfect. I don’t know….

Playlist – nothing really new to report. Buy the Beyond ‘Fatal Power of Death’ record via Iron bonehead Productions. NOw that is the real fucking deal Sirs.

  4. Summertime! In my hammock out in the garden whenever I can… Mostly non-metal on the menu (instead it’s vintage blues/rock like John Mayall, Ten Years After and Creedence and a bit of techno on the side) but I have been digesting these:
    Autopsy – The Headless Ritual
    Coffins – The Fleshland
Amon Amarth – Deceiver of the Gods (+ Under the Influence)
All new but nothing new, all solid in my opinion.
Looking forward to the new Gorguts, that track is sick! Also looking forward to the new Ulcerate. To celebrate I’ve made a playlist of Gorguts’ and Ulcerate’s backcatalogue which is going on shuffle NOW!

Nightsblood> Buying Cold Lake instead of Considered Dead AND Cold Lake being the first Celtic Frost you’ve ever heard? Ouch and ouch again… 😉 Hope you at least had some luck with that really cute gal?
